For more than 10 years, I've been helping small businesses "do more with less" as a consultant for operations and marketing.

Initially, I contracted with a franchise developer as a writer to develop and document procedure manuals for new franchise businesses. With extensive background as a writer and designer of marketing, advertising, and publicity materials, I was also asked to create high-impact, low-cost marketing campaigns for each franchise. Eventually, I began working independently with non-franchise, small business owners who could significantly benefit by adapting the same business system model used by successful franchises.

In 1998, during a conversation with a client, I realized there were many small business owners and independent professionals who understood the value of developing their own business system, but simply couldn't afford to have me work so intensely on their projects. My client said, "Susan, you're a writer! Write a book that will help them do it themselves." Taking this remark to heart, one year later I authored and published my first book, How To Make Your Business Run Without You.

Since then, I continue to offer one-on-one consulting services for those who want and need undivided attention, as well as develop materials to help small and micro business owners and self-employed professionals “do more with less.”
